BC 000 — First Sip

The prototype.

This cup sat untouched for three months.

I bought it back in February with the intention of drawing on it someday, but fear, perfectionism, overthinking, and excuses kept pushing the idea further away. I started with black ink. Stopped. Restarted. Changed pens. Waited for the “right” time.

Then life changed.

A few weeks later, I got hired at Starbucks as a barista during one of the hardest rebuilding seasons of my life. After my first day of training, I came home and finished the drawing.

This piece became more than a sketch on a coffee cup.
It became proof.

Proof that obedience starts before confidence.
Proof that creativity survives hard seasons.
Proof that hidden things eventually ask to be seen.

The koi represents perseverance, transformation, and movement through resistance — which makes this the perfect beginning to Bloom Cups.
